Desanders are the second phase of drilling fluids process. They are used to separate sand from drilling fluids which is mixed with drilling muds and big articles. During drilling process mud is being poured from inlet and is getting deeper. when the vortex in the hydroclone running, the water spray from a pipe and the mud ,soil, big articles subside down the outlet. That is the recycling of mud in order to separate water from mud and get clean water that will be used in next excavations.
Desander operates on exactly the same principle as hydrocyclone. Hydrocyclone is made of an upper cylindrical section and a lower conical section. A vortex finder pipe protruding downward at the top of the upper cylindrical section that is a little bit below the tangential feed section . Fluid from centrifugal pump enters the tangential feed section of the hydrocyclone at high velocity on swirling motion creating a centrifugal force that accelerates the solids to the cone wall. The solids and liquid mixture rotates rapidly. While swirling downward the higher mass solids move toward the wall and exit the down section- cylinder through its apex while the lighter mass which are concentrated away from the wall towards the centerline are now forced to reverse direction swirling upward exiting the vortex finder.
Some features of TR desander
1. TR desander is produced by an advanced design, careful engineering, quality materials and finest workmanship which comprising 8, 10, and 12 inches cone diameter. As desanders have varying capacity based on its diameter.
2. Three configurations are available by TR depending on capacity, model 120, 180 and 240.
